Inside The Studio: April Updates and Spring Fling Info

Updated: Apr 26

Edited on April 26th: Soooo turns out that we actually won't be attending Spring Fling. We had a mix up on our end and unfortunately we will not be able to attend this year after all. I am so incredibly sorry for the mix up and any inconvenience that may cause.

I am going to work on finding another local show to attend, fingers crossed I can find something that I can attend with my work schedule and the chaos that comes with the spring/summer season.

Everything below the line has been left unedited from the original post.

Oof, it's been awhile since I've sat down and written any sort of blog post on here. I should more often especially as I continue to go to craft shows and yes my newsletter is a good place to go for the most up to date info but like....I have a blog page I should remember to use it when I can. That is one thing I want to work on this year...making blog posts, even if it's mostly just my monthly updates that go into the newsletter so that way show info is at least easily accessible. Especially since I am having struggles wanting to post on my social media accounts lately. Everything just has me so overwhelmed and nervous for how things will go in the future it's feeling useless to make any kind of posts and that's not a good thing if I want people to know I have new art available or going to different vendor events.

Speaking of which, I actually will be attending a vendor/craft show soon, May 3rd (May 4th if it rains) from 10 am to 4 pm Central Time. I'll be at Spring Fling at Cody Park in North Platte that day attending with my mom and one of my sisters. I will be sharing a corner of their booth space (Serenita Stregheria) for this show due to time constraints on my end with work. I don't have time to prep as much stuff so I will have a small set up for the mimics, stickers and prints. This will be my only spring/summer show this year. I just struggle to have time to create during spring and summer due to it being the busy season at my day job and even though I love going to shows and events I do need time to actually make things as well as rest so I probably won't have anymore until fall.

My second biggest update is that I have finally finished adding all of the mimics and stickers that I made from the end of last year to my site.

I have also been doing a bunch of back end work that included things like updating and cleaning up listing descriptions. I have made it through my stickers designs so far and will need to be continue working through the others. A lot of my listings from when I started this website aren't very good and kind of sloppy from rushing to get stuff lives back when I started my website.

I have gotten busy working on deciding and applying to different vendor shows so the one I know for listed and hopefully by the end of the week I'll have more confirmed. Once they're confirmed I'll get them up on the home page.

I also have an art update! It's nothing crazy but I am in the process of working on a couple new art prints. I'm trying to finish a portrait of Frater Imperator aka Copia from the band Ghost. He's the closest to being down and fingers crossed I can have him finished and made into prints in time for Spring Fling.

I also have off and back on again, been working on a new tattoo flash sheet. This one inspired by the song Rule 34 from Fish in a Birdcage. I got crazy inspired to make something based off of it but I have also been struggling with killer art block a lot over the last year so it has been a slow process. I have one more design to make to fill the sheet and then it's onto making a decision on if I want to finish it digitally or transfer onto watercolors paper and do it that way.

I also will be adding two more designs to the spring wildlife collection for sure. I ordered the paper for it because I apparently used the rest of my marker paper for those. I have been sketching out some different ideas for them but I know the two animals being added for sure are a opossum and a skunk. If I get them done with them will for sure being a vinyl sticker like the others but I also really want them also be used for either a journal or weekly planner pad but those are plans for much later in the year when everything is finished. All of the Spring Wildlife Collection will be made into a coloring book zine as well.

The first did so well that the roughly 200 coloring zines I made originally are almost gone. It's wild to me how fast those have been selling because they were just something I started as a little experiment for things that would cheap at my booth but could also be given out as freebies, especially to little kids at events. It makes me really happy to see how much people have enjoyed them so much. They were super fun to make. A Halloween zine will also be in the works soon as well. I want to have plenty of time to get that made up and done so I can have them for Boo Bazaar in October. It's going to be a wild time trying to get everything done in time but I think I can manage it.

I'm going to do my very best to keep things up to date on here and in the newsletter as I can this summer. I'm really excited for the things I have planned so far this year.
