Inside The Studio: Making Progress Out of the Chaos

August has flown by so incredibly fast. I finished out July by just barely finishing making my outfits into time for my Ghost concerts at the start of August. Well, technically, I got both of them done but the second piece I had forgotten I was going to make some structural changes before I finished sewing all the seams so after a month of chaotic bedazzling I ended up not being able to wear it because it didn't fit me right at all. I will eventually be going back to it and making the needed adjustments. I love the concept and it makes me so incredibly happy but for now it gets to hang up out of the way so I can get through my craft show season.
Which I have been working through chaotically all month. I have been slowly painting my mismatched displays slowly and only have a few smaller pieces to finish with but that is going to have to wait while I wait on the next couple of humid and wet days work their way through my area. I have also gotten some new pieces to help my booth space at shows be more organized so I'm incredibly excited to be able to start putting it all to use. I'm excited to see my vision come true.
I did also both to my excitement and to my disappointment my DTF transfers and canvas bags have arrived and I have made up some of them. The disappointment that I experienced was that I had to make some last minute changes because I some how managed to goof up part of the files before I sent them off so I wasn't able to put them on the black bags I had been planning using. Some of the goofs had been things like stray lines, a weird scribble at the bottom of one of the designs, white borders and uploaded wrong file for one design and so it came out really blurry. The was able to cut of and scrape off some of the problem spots but the border was not something I was going to be able to fix so they ended up on the bags I got for the mimics instead. They are still super cute but wow! By the time I was done heat pressing the art onto the bags I was beyond exhausted. I have since gone through and reworking the files and have new transfers ordered. My goal is to get some of those pressed over the weekend if the transfers end up coming in before or on my days off. For a little while, the bags will not be available on my website. I started with a very low quantity to see how it would go first. I'm not entirely sure on an exact time line for making them available online due to how my current shows are scheduled but I will be bringing them with me to my in-person events. I have 2-3 of each design currently and will be slowly getting more made up I've just got to wait on the transfers to be delivered and then to order more after I know I didn't mess up the files again or miss something on them.

On August 26th, my new journals, sticker books, and acrylic key chains did end up coming in as well! From the quick look I took at them after I woke up to and before I ate dinner, they all look absolutely incredible but I'll be going through those slowly the next couple of days to confirm. I'll try to get a couple pictures of them and post them up to my socials but it'll be a little while before they get listed since I'll need to get product photos of everything and build listings. I did try to make sure order enough that I wouldn't need to order anymore for a long while.

I've also finally finished drawing the Boo Bees sticker sheet and now just need to make them. I'm also almost done cleaning up my old Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired sticker flash sheet as well. It's been a long while since I've had them available and it feels like the perfect time to bring them back.
I'll also be spending a good chunk of the my weekend working on getting more prints made available are ready to go, in particular I will be focusing on the 5" x 7" prints, and I'll finally be having some time to sit down and start working on small collection of Halloween themed Mimic Dice boxes. I have desperately been needing to sit down and sculpt them. I'm really excited for this small collection. I've been thinking about them for months now and the fact that I can actually take some time and get them started is going to make me feel so much better. They unfortunately the new ones won't be available for the Soulfest for sure but I am going to try my best to have them available for either the Sutherland Maker's Market or the Triple Bee Sip & Shop Pink Party. That is the goal. I am hoping I can keep my current momentum going.
The Triple Bee Sip & Shop is a new one event for me. I just applied to it and it will be an outdoors event. So I'm going to keep being extra busy for a little while I work on making more new goodies.
It has been such an insanely busy month and I have gotten so much stuff done that it's kinda mind blowing. I really wasn't expecting that I'd get this much stuff done in one month.
Unfortunately, I got busy enough that I wasn't able to get this blog or the newsletter out for August because I didn't get it done in time as much as I did try to get it done. Life and a million projects just didn't allow for it to be done when I wanted it to be. Hopefully, when I got to make the actual September post and newsletter.
